¡Hola! My name is Judith Roman, and I am the founder and Owner of Español y Más, a Spanish and multicultural enrichment program created from my passion for teaching children and sharing the beauty of the Spanish language and culture.

I was born and raised in Cuba, and in 2013 I moved to the United States with my husband in search of new opportunities and a better future. My journey as an educator began in 2015 when I started working with children in preschool settings. During this time, I discovered my passion for teaching Spanish and creating meaningful learning experiences where children could explore a new language in a fun and engaging way.

In 2019, I became part of the Southwest Elementary Schools community through the Dual Language Program. This experience inspired me even more and helped me discover my love for teaching Spanish at the elementary school level. I enjoyed seeing students gain confidence, connect with the language, and develop an appreciation for Hispanic cultures.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to create a Spanish summer camp in a family home. A wonderful family opened their doors to me and gave me the opportunity to share my Spanish language skills, cultural knowledge, and passion for teaching with their children. I created and planned a fun, interactive, and educational program where kids learned Spanish through games, activities, culture, and hands-on experiences.

After the success of the first summer camp, the program continued to grow as more families became interested and more children joined. This encouraged me to take the next step and offer my own Spanish summer camp at my home, where it became a tremendous success and the beginning of what is now Español y Más.

As the program continued to grow, I wanted to provide more opportunities for children to continue their Spanish learning throughout the school year. In 2025, I expanded Español y Más by opening an after-school enrichment program. I was amazed by how quickly the program reached capacity and by the number of families who continued reaching out, hoping to enroll their children. Seeing the excitement and trust from our community inspired me to dream bigger and continue expanding Español y Más to reach even more children and families.

Today, my goal is to continue inspiring children in our community to feel confident learning a second language while creating joyful experiences that make Spanish exciting, meaningful, and accessible. Through Español y Más, I hope to give students the opportunity to explore language, culture, creativity, and connection in a supportive environment where they feel encouraged to learn and grow.
